Naturopathic Medicine of Idaho ("NatMed Idaho," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit www.natmedidaho.com (the "Site") or interact with us, including through our SMS messaging program.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and general business information. It does not replace our Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs how we handle your Protected Health Information ("PHI") under HIPAA once you become a patient. If there is any conflict between this Policy and our Notice of Privacy Practices regarding PHI, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us, such as when you fill out a contact form, request an appointment, subscribe to communications, or opt in to SMS messaging:
Name, email address, phone number, mailing address
Appointment preferences and scheduling details
Messages or information you submit through contact or intake forms
Payment information (processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card details)
Information collected automatically when you use the Site:
IP address, browser type, device information
Pages visited, time on page, referring URLs
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)
Health information: If you become a patient, health information you share with us during intake, scheduling, or care is protected under HIPAA and governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this general Privacy Policy. Please avoid submitting sensitive health details through general, non-secure contact forms on the Site.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to inquiries and schedule appointments;
Send appointment reminders, confirmations, and patient portal notifications (including via SMS, see Section 6);
Operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
Communicate with you about our services, unless you opt out;
Comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements;
Protect against fraud, unauthorized transactions, and security risks.
We do not use PHI for marketing purposes without your authorization, consistent with HIPAA.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Service providers who help us operate the Site, scheduling systems, SMS platform, or payment processing, under confidentiality obligations;
Business associates, as defined under HIPAA, who assist in providing clinical or administrative services and are bound by business associate agreements;
Legal or regulatory authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or court order;
Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to applicable law.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
4. SMS Messaging Program
If you opt in to receive SMS messages from us (appointment reminders, scheduling confirmations, and patient portal notifications):
We collect your mobile number and consent status for the purpose of operating the program;
Your mobile number and opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes;
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, and request help by replying HELP, as described in our [Terms of Service](https://www.natmedidaho.com/terms-of-service);
Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies;
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to:
Remember your preferences;
Understand how visitors use the Site;
Improve Site functionality and performance.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site features.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations (including medical record retention requirements under Idaho law), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Communications: You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails or texts at any time using the unsubscribe/STOP instructions provided.
Access to PHI: If you are a patient, you have rights regarding your PHI as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, including rights to access, amend, and receive an accounting of certain disclosures.
Do Not Track: The Site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can address it.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites (such as scheduling platforms or payment processors). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies separately.
